Description:

Working 40 hours per week over a 7 day rota, shifts from 07:30 to 22:00, term time plus 2 weeks and INSET.

To provide a support service to ensure the smooth running and maintaining the high standards of the school. 

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Manage the community assistant team on a day to day basis.
  • Create termly rotas
  • Ensure adequate cover for the Car Park Reception and School Reception
  • Liaise with the School, Boarding, Examinations Officer, Purchasing Manager and Librarian.
  • Deliver orders of stock and equipment to departments
  • Assist departments with production of classroom displays
  • Assist with preparing and removing AV equipment
  • Challenge unacceptable behaviour/uniform and deal with it using the appropriate school systems 
  • Maintain up to date knowledge and training in Safeguarding and Health & Safety practices
  • Engage positively with students and staff

The post holder’s responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young persons for whom s/he is responsible, or with whom s/he comes into contact will be to adhere to and ensure compliance with the College’s Child Protection Policy at all times. Qualifications:

  • Educated to GCSE/equivalent or above
  • Relevant experience working in a similar role (staff management, creating staff rotas)
  • Excellent telephone manner and general communication skills
  • Proficient in Word/Excel/Outlook
  • Able to work as part of a team and unsupervised
  • Motivation to work amongst children and young people
